Silk, one of the oldest fibers in the world, originated in China and was exported to Europe and Asia via the "Silk Road", becoming an important link between Eastern and Western civilizations. In the long history of evolution, silk has been hailed as the "Queen of Fibers" for its unique luster, soft texture and rare production method, symbolizing dignity, elegance and exquisite life.
Material characteristics:
Antibacterial and hypoallergenic
The main components of silk are fibroin and sericin. Fibroin is composed of 18 kinds of amino acids, which is similar to the protein structure in human skin. It has a soft touch and reduces the rate of skin allergies. The sericin component can effectively inhibit bacteria.
Cool and breathable
The moisture absorption rate of silk fiber is as high as 11% to 13%, which is much higher than cotton and chemical fiber. It can quickly absorb excess moisture in a humid environment, keeping the wearer dry and comfortable.
Temperature control
Silk has good thermal regulation. There are tiny gaps inside the fiber. It can dissipate moisture and heat at high temperatures, and form an insulation layer in cold weather to stabilize the body temperature.
Soft and light
The specific gravity of silk is only 1.25 g/cm³, which is lighter than cotton (1.54 g/cm³), so it is not burdensome to wear and is suitable for creating a flowing clothing style.
Texture and luster
The silk surface has a triangular prism-shaped cross-section, which can naturally refract light and present a soft pearl luster, which is more eye-catching in the shape.
Washing guide:
Cleaning method
Dry cleaning is recommended first
Hand washing water temperature is recommended to be controlled below 30°C to prevent fiber damage.
Use a silk detergent with a neutral pH value (6.5-7.5) to avoid alkaline cleaning products corroding silk protein.
Soak for no more than 5 minutes and wash gently.
Drying method
It is recommended to press lightly with a clean towel when absorbing water after washing, and spread it flat to dry naturally after absorbing the water.
Avoid sun exposure to prevent ultraviolet rays from accelerating fiber aging.
Ironing tips
Iron on the reverse side, and control the iron temperature within 110°C.
You can use a wet cloth for heat insulation to prevent the gloss from being damaged due to local high temperature.
Storage precautions
Silk should be stored in an environment with a relative humidity of 50%-60% to avoid cracking due to drying or dampness and mold.
Use acid-free and alkali-free cotton bags for storage to prevent dyeing and fiber aging.
Take out and ventilate regularly, and stack clothes to avoid permanent creases caused by heavy pressure.
